Vilnius - City of Culture

Now that Vilnius is European City of Culture as an outsider do you feel it deserves it? Is there enough culture in Vilnius to justify this title? Is it enough to have a statue of a doctor or a mermaid to be held up as an example of European culture? My memory of when Dublin was city of culture was that there was not much for young people to be involved in ( I was young then). It appeared that all events were aimed at an older crowd who had lots of money - otherwise there was not much to do?
